Our Mission is to create quality landscapes that are smart, innovative, energy efficient, and in harmony with the natural environment. This is primarily done with the selection of drought tolerant and deer-resistant plants, fire-wise landscape planning and waterwise irrigation systems. This, combined with the creative use of hardscaping, lighting, and even a water feature, will provide a beautiful and balanced yard.

Our Philosophy is to work as a team to create landscapes that are in tune with our Clients’ needs and wants while educating them about more sustainable methods of landscaping and maintenance through water conservation, drought tolerant plantings and alternative landscape materials.

Our Experience

Blooming Desert Landscapes has over 30 years of combined, hands-on experience in the landscape industry, including 25 in Central Oregon. We appreciate our unique, High Desert Climate and strive to create cohesive landscapes.

Owners, Drew and Shannon Lester, are both Licensed Landscape Professionals in the State of Oregon.

Drew has a B.S. in Business Economics and Public Policy from Indiana University.  After college, his love for adventure took him out west.  Drew’s passion for nature and motivation to stay physically active led him to landscaping. Drew has advanced his education through Central Oregon Community College (C.O.C.C) courses in landscape design, plant identification, irrigation and low-voltage lighting design. He enjoys creating unique hardscapes and special effects through lighting installation.

Shannon has a B.S. in Landscape Architecture from Washington State University. She has worked for Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning firms in the Northwest, participating in projects that include city planning, wetland mitigation, landscape design for large living facilities and commercial buildings, nationwide. Shannon is the only Certified Member of APLD (Association of Professional Landscape Designers) in Central Oregon.

With Drew’s practical, hands-on experience and Shannon’s education in design, together they are able to efficiently problem solve and create beautiful living spaces.
